Functions of Adelaide Research Institute

ARI is organized for the investigation, documentation and publication of how language works in education. The research is based on Halliday’s functional linguistics. The Institute designs and delivers inservice and professional development programs in specialist areas including curriculum, school leadership and applied research in education. Professional and inservice programs are inquiry-based informed by research evidence and involving participants’ action research and reflective practice.

  • The Institute promotes and conducts local and international education seminars.
  • ARI provides advice for study programs for teachers, administrators and students.
  • ARI administers the Graduate Diploma in TESOL in the Adelaide Education Group.
  • ARI undertakes consultancies in the evaluation of school curriculum, literacy and numeracy
